Heinze Dance Academy to present 30th annual spring dance concert June 3

QUINCY — Students of Heinze Dance Academy will present its 30th annual spring dance concerts at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 3, and 1 p.m. Sunday, June 4 at Quincy Junior High School’s Morrison Theater. Tickets are available at the door.

The concert will feature more than 200 students ages 3 and up in the styles of ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz and tap.

The Heinze Dance Troupe will present 17 dances. The finale of the show will feature the entire 38 member troupe to “Salute to Classic TV” which features a medley of songs.

Highlights of the concert are:

  • senior Ada Kurk will perform a pointe solo to “Orchestra No. 2 in B Minor”
  • senior Kennedy Figge will perform a jazz solo to “So Am I”
  • senior Alden Barbagiovanni will perform a jazz solo to “Like That”
  • senior Claire Westerman will perform a jazz solo to “Magic”
  • seniors Macy Schlipman and Ava Soltwedel will perform a lyrical duet to “Always Be Together”
  • seniors Brooklynn Biggs, Grayson Pritts and Isabella Stupavsky will perform a jazz trio to “Blame It On The Boogie”

Owner Beth Heinze and instructor Brenna Phillips will be performing.

The announcement of the most improved dancers will be announced before the finale at the Sunday performance.

Heinze is a 1991 Stephens College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in dance performance, an associate’s degree in liberal arts and an associate’s degree in child studies. Heinze also is an instructor at Quincy University.
