Historical Society offering candlelight tours of Gov. John Wood Mansion beginning Dec. 13
QUINCY — The Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County is offering Christmas candlelight tours of the Gov. John Wood Mansion in December.
Candlelight tours will be scheduled between 5 and 7 p.m. on five days — Dec. 13, 14, 20, 21 and 26. Tour times are scheduled 20 minutes apart beginning at 5 p.m. Tours will begin in the Visitors Center next to the mansion. Tour guides will be available to take groups to the historic home.
Gov. and Mrs. John Wood will welcome guests to the mansion, and musical performers will be featured. Complimentary Christmas cookies and hot chocolate will be available.
This year’s musical performers and performance dates are:
- 12th Street Brass-Dec. 13
- cellists from Javaux Music School-Dec. 14
- bluegrass-inspired group Stoney Roots-Dec. 20
- local choral group The Eventide Singers-Dec. 21
- singer/songwriter Logan Kammerer-Dec. 26
