HANNIBAL, Mo. — Jane Davenport will be offering frontier line dancing classes in the lower level of HomeBank, 3817 McMasters Ave., from 1-3 p.m. June 4-5 and June 11-12. People age 18 and older are invited. There is no fee to attend.

Dances to be taught are based on Victorian Era Western European dance styles brough to America by colonists and pioneers. The dance styles will include the Circassian Circle, Virginia Reel, Quadrille, Heel and Toe polka and group waltz. Unlike the “round” or “partner” dances, the dances being offered in the classes do not require a regular partner, so everyone can join in the fun.

The end of each instructional session will culminate with a fancy dress ball and/or a barn dance, with a time and location to be announced at a later date.
