QUINCY — Jen’s Dance Academy will present its 25th anniversary recital “Impossible Comes True” at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at Quincy Junior High School’s Morrison Theater. Tickets will be available at the door.

The recital will feature more than 100 students ages 2 and up in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, pointe and acrobats. Jen’s Dance Academy Company will showcase several competition dances from this season, including the platinum-winning production number, “Wizard of Oz.”

Company dance groups earned multiple trophies this spring at Midwest Stars Dance Competition in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Additionally, they traveled to Eureka, Mo., to perform at Six Flags.

In honor of Jen’s 25th anniversary, the recital will feature an alumni dance with dancers who were graduating seniors over the years. All dances were chosen from previous years and remade with the current students to celebrate the 25 years of legacy.

Owner and instructor Jen Foust will be featured in the recital, along with some special performances with her children.

Over the years, Jen’s Dance Academy has maintained the mission of creating a space where all students can thrive, learning to love dance and being a part of the dance family.

Foust opened her studio in 2000 with her mother, Carol Peters. For years, the two would perform a mother/daughter duet in the spring recital and enjoyed working together to run the studio.

Many changes have occurred over the years, but this spring saw the biggest one. On March 31, the studio opened its new doors to students at 510 Jersey. The new studio houses a much larger dance studio space on the second floor, with the waiting room, lotus bar, arcade room and dance boutique on the first floor. A party room is available for booking parties and celebrations. Owning her own building and being able to expand the business after years of hard work is a dream come true for Foust.

Jen’s Dance Academy is partnering with the Quincy Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-off, performing during the morning. While visiting the library, make sure to stop by and see the new dance space, sign up for summer camps, get information on fall classes and play some fun arcade games.
