JWCC to present holiday concert on Friday
QUINCY — Audiences will be treated to a wide variety of holiday vocal and instrumental selections performed by talented area students at John Wood Community College’s Fine Arts Department holiday music concert. The annual event is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in the JWCC Paul Heath Center Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium on the Quincy campus, 48th and Harrison.
JWCC’s concert choir, band and vocal show ensemble will perform a showcase of traditional holiday pieces and staged scenes from musicals such as Thoroughly Modern Millie, Waitress and City of Angels. Admission is free. Monetary donations will be accepted at the door event night. Proceeds will support students’ musical tours and activities.
The concert choir and vocal show ensemble are under the direction of Steven Soebbing, JWCC department chair of fine arts. The band is under the direction of Jessica Snider.
