Kroc Center to offer free music classes to children age 7 and up starting Sept. 12

QUINCY — The Kroc Center invites local youths to participate in Music Mondays, a free program from 3-5 p.m. Mondays from Sept. 12- Nov. 14 for children ages 7 and older.

Participants can join the Kroc Center’s children’s choir and learn to play a brass instrument and piano with other musicians their age who are just starting out.

“Music is synonymous with The Salvation Army and our worship,” education and fine arts specialist Jonathon Weller said in a press release. “I’m thrilled we get to continue this tradition by offering free music classes to anyone in the Quincy area. Our hope is to build up our music department, and starting with these music classes is the perfect way to do that.”

The registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 12. For more information or to register, contact Weller at 217-231-5641 or Jonathon.Weller@usc.salvationarmy.org.
