HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, invites the public to explore the creative process of papermaking with fiber artist Shannon Brock during a hands-on workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.

In this three-hour session, participants will learn the fundamentals of papermaking and craft their paper vessel under the guidance of an experienced fiber artist. All materials and supplies provided. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a fun and enriching opportunity to dive into the world of handmade paper.

Brock is an artist and hand papermaker who specializes in creating imagery in handmade paper. Utilizing a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques, she creates one-of-a-kind paper from plant fibers. She relocated her studio from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Montgomery City, Mo., where she runs Gaptoothed Studio, which offers artist-in-residencies, workshops and one-on-one collaboration opportunities.

The cost for the workshop is $35 for the general public and $30 for HAC members.
