Live stand-up comedy returns to One: Special Event Venue on Saturday

QUINCY — Maverick Messmer Management and Belly Laffs Comedy are the hosts of “The Gem City Comedy Showcase” and after party at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at One: Special Event Venue, 600 Hampshire.

In a press release, Richard Bailey, stand-up comedian and Quincy native, said, “This is one of the best lineups I’ve been a part of. I am excited to be able to bring some of my favorite comedians to perform with. Each comic has a unique style, and it feels great to be able to bring them to one of the best venues in the area. I’m also looking forward to being onstage again in my hometown.”

Other comedians performing will be Matt Miller, who appeared on ABC’s “Holey Moley,” Heath James Thornton, Ellie Kirchhoefer and Tim Laffey of Keokuk, Iowa.
