CARTHAGE, Ill. — The lively Latin sound of “Los Chicos del 512: the Selena Experience” can be heard at The Legacy Theater at 7 p.m. Friday, June 2. The show is sponsored by Carthage Veterinary Service, Ltd.

This event will be similar to a live concert by Selena, who died in March 1995. Lead singer Keila Marymar Martinez and the band came together in 2014 to bring the magic of Selena to fans around the world.

Martinez was born in San Luis, Ariz., and found her music skills playing with her high school marching band, and singing and playing violin in a mariachi group.

Selena’s posthumous album, “Dreaming of You” in 1995, hit the Billboard 200, marking her as the first Latin artist to accomplish this feat. Selena sold around 18 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling female artists in Latin music.

Drew Green, a country star from Nashville, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 7. He has been a songwriter for Music Row artists in Nashville and now is taking his songs on stage himself.

In his debut track, “Little More Be Alright,” Green counts his blessings and gives thanks for what he has been able to do.

In a press release, Green said, “I’ve realized over my years of songwriting that it’s not just about luck. For me, it’s about working hard and staying passionate. Sometimes I feel like I really couldn’t live without writing songs.”

Tickets for these shows are available at The Legacy Theater box office from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Stop in at 1160 Buchanan, call the office at 217-357- 9479 or order online.
