Muddy River Opera, The Quincy Museum to present ‘Night at the Museum’ on Oct. 26
QUINCY — The Muddy River Opera Company and The Quincy Museum will have a collaborative event, “Night at the Museum,” at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at The Quincy Museum. It will feature a free movie night, a costume contest and carnival-style lawn games.
The event, designed for all ages, will celebrate community and the arts in Quincy. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best costumes. A nominal fee will be charged for people who want to participate in the costume contest. A $50 cash prize will be awarded to the winning costume.
“We wanted to create an event that brings the community together in a festive and fun atmosphere while raising funds for both the Muddy River Opera Company and The Quincy Museum,” Alex Craig, president of the board of directors for Muddy River Opera, said in a press release. “With the support of local businesses and the hard work of our team, we’re excited to offer a memorable evening that benefits these great cultural institutions.”
Proceeds from the event from free-will donations will benefit both the Muddy River Opera Company and The Quincy Museum, two vital cultural institutions in Quincy. Attendees can buy concessions, with all proceeds supporting the organizations.
“We’re excited to partner with Muddy River Opera to offer this special event to our community,” said Katie Roskamp-Ellerbrock, executive director of The Quincy Museum. “It’s a wonderful way to celebrate fall, enjoy family friendly entertainment and contribute to preserving Quincy’s cultural and historical heritage.”
