HANNIBAL, Mo. —  The Hannibal Arts Council and Hannibal Parks and Recreation are teaming up to offer a unique and inspiring workshop designed for art lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.

The Nature Art Journaling Workshop will take place at Hannibal Arts Council at 105 S. Main from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 10, providing participants with a chance to connect with the outdoors while expressing their creativity through art.

In this hands-on workshop, attendees will explore the beauty of nature through the medium of art journaling. Led by program coordinator and arts educator Beth Hinton and Gale Rublee of Hannibal Parks and Recreation, the event will include information about nature journaling and guide participants through techniques in sketching and writing, all while drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings at Hannibal’s riverfront parks.

“We’re excited to collaborate with Hannibal Parks and Recreation to offer this workshop,” Hinton said in a press release. “It’s the perfect opportunity to blend creativity with the calming experience of nature, and we hope it inspires both beginners and seasoned artists to explore their artistic abilities.”

The workshop is open to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists. All necessary materials, including journals and sketching supplies, will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own personal touch, whether it’s a favorite pencil or colored pencils.

There is no charge for the workshop but pre-registration is required. To register or learn more, visit hannibalartscouncil@eventbrite.com, call 573-221-6545 or stop in at 105 S. Main.

This workshop is part of an ongoing effort by the Hannibal Arts Council and Hannibal Parks and Recreation to offer creative opportunities to the community. Participants are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm and explore the world of art journaling in the beautiful outdoor setting of Hannibal’s riverfront.
