New exhibits open at Hannibal Arts Council on May 30

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The upcoming exhibits at the Hannibal Arts Council showcasing a range of media will be on display from May 30 through June 28 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main.
A Friday night preview will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 30, featuring musician Jerry Rosenkrans and an artist talk at 6 p.m. The exhibits will remain open to the public until June 28. This event is made possible through support from Kyle Mack, Shelter Insurance Companies, Chariton Valley, Rita Plowman, Hannibal Arts Council and the Missouri Arts Council.
The exhibits will feature work by Timothy Spencer (Quincy, Ill.) and Pam Block (Hannibal) showcasing their photography skills and Adriana Brown (Hannibal) and Gaylene Briggs (Quincy, Ill.) featuring original paintings.
Additionally, local artists have submitted works for “Life. Still.”, an open show, which will celebrate the timeless style of still life in art. The Photography Channel will display digital images reflecting the theme “Close-Ups,” along with the featured photographer, Lori Purk of Saint Louis.
HAC gallery hours through June 28 are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays (during exhibits only).
