Our November “Clean up your act” winners
“Clean Up Your Act” is a new monthly engaging segment for your entertainment brought to you by Autoshine Car Wash located at 529 N. 48th Street and 2500 Broadway Street in Quincy.
What is it?
Our Muddy Buddy crew will be selecting the best and the worst comment from our Facebook page every month. The best comment gets a free car wash from Autoshine and the worst comment gets to be publicly admonished with the Shame Shame Bell.
It’s all in good fun and a reminder that what you write in that comment section is visible to our 26K local Facebook following. Muddy River News loves the engagement and as always, thank you for watching, reading and supporting your local news.
This month’s best comment award goes to Steve O’Dear Jr. for his comment on our article on November 25.
Steve wrote: Why not reach out to the business to renovate the bleachers? They could divide them into sections vertically and refurbish them. Essentially, they would have a banner at the top of each section signifying the donor. This would also allow each business to book out their section for a corporate day should they choose.
Nice comment, Steve! While we do not know the logistics of the plan, you came to the comment section with a suggestion and a plan. The world needs more Steves. They tend to be well-liked around MRN parts.
The Shame Shame bell gets to take a vacation this month as there really weren’t any that needed to “clean up their act.” Sure, we had the usual trolls with some name calling, but let’s be real – the spotlight won’t clean that up!
Instead, we will ring some jingle bells for a comment that stood out in that same article by Mike Straube.
Mike wrote: It’s always a great idea when someone else has to pay for it.
While some may call Mike a Scrooge, or even a naysayer, there seems to be a point to his jingle that we oftentimes can mistake for negativity. It should be ok to not want to fund everyone’s’ great ideas that they bring to the community table, especially in a community that is full of them.
