Quincy Area Youth Chorus to audition singers for 2024-25 season on Aug. 3 at Christ Lutheran Church
QUINCY — The Quincy Area Youth Chorus invites area singers to join for the 29th season of performances.
Girls, and boys with unchanged voices, in grades 3-12 are invited to audition. The QAYC provides musical excellence in a creative and nurturing environment.
Auditions for the QAYC will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Christ Lutheran Church, 333 S. 36th. Auditioning children should prepare a song they enjoy singing and call the Quincy Symphony office, 217-222-2856 ext. 11, to sign up for an audition time. Additional information is available at www.qsoa.org.
Rehearsals for the Kinderchor (grades 3-6) and the Concert Choir (grades 7-12) are held either on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons. They provide comprehensive music education while fostering friendships. QAYC offers a supportive environment for young individuals to express themselves, gain confidence and overcome stage fright or performance anxiety. Tuition is $80 for the 2024-25 season. Scholarships are available.
Accepted singers will perform concerts in the fall and spring and join the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Adult Chorus for its Holiday Family Concert on Dec. 6.
Founded in 1995, QAYC is a performing and educational outreach program within the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association. QAYC supplements school and church choral training with focused preparation and performance of excellent treble chorus literature.
