QUINCY — Students will be working with storybooks, color and design and mixed media beginning next month at Quincy Art Center. Classes begin the week of Oct. 11 for preschool, kindergarten-third grade, and fourth-eighth grade students.

Preschool students will learn “The Art of Storybooks,” where they will read a storybook with their instructor each week and do a project associated with the narrative that opens their hearts and minds to artistic expression beyond illustrations.

Students in kindergarten-third grade will work with “Color & Design” by exploring the vast world of art through drawing, painting and coloring various projects. They will build a mural at the end of class.

Students in fourth-eighth grade will work with “Mixed Media” by exploring the world of collage and typography as they strive to create meaningful representations through the lens of mixed media.

Members of the Art Center receive a 10 percent discount on classes. Scholarships are available to children 18 years of age and younger. Scholarships cover the entire class, including the fee and art supplies.
