Quincy Art Center to be host of Members First Friday event featuring exclusive exhibit, artwork sale

QUINCY — The Quincy Art Center will hold a Members First Friday event on Friday, Dec. 6, featuring an exclusive exhibit and sale of works by local artist Fritzi Morrison. The event is guest-curated by Hal Oakley.

Preview of the artwork will begin at 4 p.m. with the Members First Friday event beginning at 4:30 p.m. Guest curator remarks with Oakley will begin at 5 p.m.

Oakley will share stories and insights into Fritzi Morrison’s artistry and his process of curating this exhibit, titled “Fritzi Morrison: Works in Watercolor.” The exhibit includes 24 carefully selected artworks which will be available for purchase exclusively by members of the Quincy Art Center. Prices range from $50 to $500.

“This is a truly unique opportunity for our members to celebrate Fritzi Morrison’s legacy and bring home a piece of Quincy’s artistic heritage,” Elizabeth Swick, interim curator of Quincy Art Center, said in a press release. “We are thrilled to share these beautiful watercolors and Oakley’s insights with our members during this special event.”

This event is open to Quincy Art Center members and their guests. Membership at Quincy Art Center starts at $50 per year and offers a range of benefits such as access to exclusive members-only events, exhibit previews, a 15 percent discount on artwork purchases and discounts on classes, workshops and merchandise. Members also receive invitations to special receptions.
