Quincy Community Theatre to hold auditions March 2-4 for student theatre play ‘Ghostlight’

QUINCY — Auditions for the student theatre lab play “Ghostlight,” written by Stephen Gregg, will take place March 2-4 at Quincy Community Theatre. Auditions are open to students in grades 7-12, and no prior experience is necessary.
Set in a prestigious and mysterious school, “Ghostlight” follows a group of high school students as they navigate strange occurrences and uncover long-buried secrets during their rehearsal for a play. As bewildering events unfold and tensions rise, the line between reality and the supernatural blurs, leading to a thrilling and unexpected climax.
Auditionees will be asked to read a scene from the play and participate in a movement exercise. Scripts are available for checkout at the QCT box office. Those auditioning should dress to move and wear sneakers.
Actors cast in the “Ghostlight” ensemble will play multiple roles, including performing live foley sound effects, providing an opportunity to explore various aspects of theatrical production.
Callbacks, if necessary, will be held March 4. Rehearsals will begin shortly after auditions, leading up to performance dates of April 24-27.
The guest director for “Ghostlight” is Mack Finklea, a freelance director and stage manager based in Chicago after graduating from the Webster Conservatory for Theatre Arts with her degree in directing.
For more information about auditions, including signups, visit the QCT website at www.1qct.org or contact the QCT box office at 217-222-3209. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
