Quincy Community Theatre to offer ASL interpretation for July 24 presentation of ‘Legally Blonde’
QUINCY — Quincy Community Theatre’s performance of its blockbuster summer musical, “Legally Blonde,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, will incorporate ASL interpretation. Patrons may email the box office at qct@1qct.org or call 217-222-3209 to reserve seats for this performance.
Local ASL interpreter Jessica Lewis will be near the stage for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing, seated in an area of the theatre that gives the best sight lines to follow the interpretation and the action on stage. A limited number of seats are held for the ASL performance. Assisted listening devices will be available during all performances.
The cast of 28 performers (and two dogs) will be singing, dancing, marching, jump roping and barking their way through this musical.
Tickets are $24 to $28 and for sale online at 1qct.org, by phone at (217) 222-3209 or at the box office.
QCT will be the host of Discovery Night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 5. This free event invites the audience backstage to take a look at the process of bringing this story to life. See the costumes, set pieces, hear from the director and designers and watch a portion of the rehearsal. RSVP on QCT’s website to attend this event.
A question-and-answer session will follow the performance on Friday, July 22. The Talk Back also will be live streamed on the QCT Facebook page for people who can’t attend.
