Quincy University choirs to present Christmas concert Sunday at St. Francis Church
QUINCY — Quincy University’s music department choirs will present their December concert, “A Service of Lessons and Carols,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at St. Francis Church, 1721 College Ave.
Choirs will perform under the direction of Kristin Ramseyer, director of choirs, and choral conducting students Evan Conover, Phil Haverstock, Jesse Mose, Hallie Mundle and Colby Schulz.
The Concert Choir will perform:
- “Gloria in Excelsis Deo” from Haydn’s Heiligmesse
- “There is No Rose” from Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten
- “The First Nowell” arranged by Richard Proulx
The Chamber Choir will perform:
- “Ding Dong, Merrily on High!” arranged by Chester Alwes
- “A Babe is Born” by Paul Bouman
- “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebl
Clara Voce will perform:
- “O Come, O Come Emannuel” arranged by Alice Parker & Robert Shaw
- “Silent Night” arranged by Daniel Brinsmead
- “Verbum caro Factum est” by Hans leo Hassler
All choirs will join together to sing:
- “Once in Royal David’s City” arranged by Victor C. Johnson
- “O Come, All Ye Faithful” arranged by David Willcocks
The concert is free and open to the public.
