Quincy University percussion band camp set for June 21-23

QUINCY —The Quincy University Music Department’s ninth annual summer percussion ensemble camp for students entering grades 7-12 will run from 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, to 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Connie Niemann Center for Music, 17th and Seminary Road. The cost of the camp is $125 per participant and includes meals and two nights lodging on campus.

Students will rehearse a variety of percussion ensemble music for large and small groups and present a concert at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Guest directors will be area educators Jill Steinkamp and Rebecca Washington. This year’s camp will feature guest artist Candice Hill, a percussionist and steel drum performer from the Kansas City area. Hill will perform with the students and present solo material.
