Quincy University’s Symphonic Band spring concert set for May 1 in Niemann Center

QUINCY — The Quincy University Symphonic Band will present its spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1 in the Connie Niemann Center for Music, 17th and Seminary Road. This concert is free and open to the public.

The Symphonic Band will perform:

  • “Concerto D’Amore” by Jacob De Haan
  • “Among The Clouds” by Brian Balmages
  • “The Vikings” by Andrew Boysen
  • “Festivo” by Vaclav Nelhybel and
  • “Fate Of The Gods” by Steven Reineke.

This performance will feature five student conductors — sophomore Jesse Mose, sophomore Philip Haverstock, sophomore Colby Schulz, senior Madison Brueck and junior Cody Collins. The students have had the opportunity to lead the band through the entire rehearsal process to prepare for the concert as a requirement for the Instrumental Conducting course in which they are enrolled.
