HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Regional Foundation will be the host of its annual Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic on Wednesday, June 11, at Norwoods Golf Course. The foundation partners with the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame to put on the tournament, and Raymond James Financial Services is the official sponsor for this year’s event.

The Shoeless Joe’s Golf Classic allows participants the opportunity to play with a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and/or other sports celebrities. Recent celebrity guests have been former St. Louis Cardinals football players Mel Gray, Johnny Roland and Eric Williams, former Chiefs players Art Still and Ted McKnight, and Chase Coffman, an All-American tight end for the University of Missouri.

“This is such a fun event, and we are so appreciative of Raymond James and all those who sponsor and participate.  The support over the last 15 years has been overwhelming, raising more than $1 million to support patients of Hannibal Regional,” Wendy Harrington, Hannibal Regional Foundation president and CEO, said in a press release. “We are excited to be able to host this event again and look forward to another great year.”

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit Hannibal Regional Foundation’s Legacy of Hope campaign. This campaign is raising funds to support cancer care and services throughout the region, including the purchase of a new linear accelerator and building upgrades at the Cary Cancer Center in Hannibal as well as the construction of a new state-of-the-art cancer center in Kirksville.
