HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Riedel Foundation of Hannibal has awarded a $5,000 grant to assist with the 2024-25 season of the Hannibal Concert Association (HCA).

The HCA will use the money to bring six performances to Hannibal for the upcoming season, which runs from October 2024 until May 2025. The HCA has brought a variety of musicians and performers to Hannibal since it started in 1945.

“Our volunteer board of directors works hard to continue this tradition and reach new audiences,” HCA president Sara North said in a press release. “The Riedel grant helps us keep our quality high, our season tickets reasonably priced, and our organization’s foundation strong. It also helps promote and encourage the next generation of concert goers.”

The Riedel Foundation grant award sponsors the Student Pass Program, in which select Hannibal students and one accompanying adult are offered complimentary admission to a concert to encourage audience development through youth and families. HCA will work with public and private school private instrumental/vocal instructors, as well as the concert and jazz bands at the middle and high school levels.

The HCA concert season offers a variety of styles and genres of music. It kicks off on Friday, Oct. 4, with a performance by the Street Corner Symphony. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Roland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Hannibal LaGrange University.
