Salters recognized for work at Box Town with Ultimate Paragon by Hannibal Arts Council
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council recently recognized several community members with Paragon art awards. Award winners were presented original, one-of-a-kind award pieces by HAC board member and craftsman Roger McGregor.
Frank and Donna Salter were awarded the Ultimate Paragon, the highest award presented. The Salters have been a mainstay at Box Town at the Wild and Wacky Art Adventure, held every August. The Salters have spearheaded the project, which started as a special project of the Friends of Historic Hannibal. When that group disbanded, they continued to pull their friends together to make sure Box Town continued. The Salters are frequent program participants and consistent membership supporters of the Hannibal Arts Council.
Other 2023 Paragon Art Awards winners included:
- Leadership in the Arts (art project/art program) award recognized Shelley Campbell for her work and dedication to ORiGINALE, the Hannibal Art Club’s annual exhibit and competition, now in its 59th year;
- Leadership in the Arts (individual) award recognized Trevor McDonald for his dedication to covering arts events when he was a staff writer for the Hannibal Courier-Post;
- Leadership in the Arts (business) award recognized Chad and Jill Otten, owners of Finn’s Food and Spirits, for their support of the arts, downtown development, festivals/special events and adding live music to downtown.
