HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, will host a dinner and performance event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
The Soup Dinner + Concert combines two great things: food for the body and music for the soul. Admission includes music by HAC executive director and pianist Michael Gaines. Before the musical performance, guests will enjoy a variety of homemade soups, breads and desserts. The HAC Program Committee will host the event.
The “My Favorite Things” was chosen by Gaines as the theme/focus of the candlelight concert. Gaines will choose piano selections that were favorites as he was first learning to play the piano, favorites over the decades and some new favorites just recently discovered.
In a press release, Gaines said, “I may not be the best pianist, but I’m certainly willing and glad to donate my time to raise funds for HAC and hopefully provide an enjoyable evening for those attending. For those who have attended before, we Know the meal provided by the HAC Program Committee is certainly going to be amazing. It always is.”
The performance will be staged in the Hannibal Arts Council gallery, which will be filled with candles and gallery walls filled with some of Gaines’ favorite art pieces from his collection.
Cost for the dinner and performance is $25 for the general public and $20 for HAC members. Space is limited and tickets are required. To buy tickets, visit https://hannibalartscouncil.eventbrite.com, contact HAC at 573-221-6545 or stop by 105 S. Main from noon to 5 p.m. Mon-Fri.
