HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department is providing a Storybook Trail in Central Park specially geared to young children which will run through April 25. The book is “Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes,” written by Kimberly and James Dean.

The book will be available for two weeks to give youngsters a chance to read the book as they walk through the park. The pages of the book are installed along the sidewalk in Central Park.

In a press release, Mary Lynne Richards, recreation supervisor with Hannibal Parks and Recreation, said, “Reading helps youngsters learn about sounds, words and language. It’s a good way to develop an appreciation for nature and imagination when we encourage reading outside.”

Storybook Trail is a free, family-oriented activity provided by Hannibal Parks and Recreation.
