Three-person comedy show at ONE Event Venue set for Friday
QUINCY — ONE Event Venue will be the site for a three-person comedy show Friday, Nov. 18, presented by JM Legacy Foundation and Maverick MESSMER Management LLC.
Coming back to his hometown for a night of comedy, host Richard Bailey will introduce you to Tim Laffey, Kathy Brennan and Al Nimpson. Big Bros BBQ & Catering will be on site along with a food truck outside of ONE. A cash bar will be available. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Quincy Children’s Museum.
Laffey, Keokuk’s “Most Handsome 2022,” will entertain the audience with his classic style sharing jokes about growing up on a farm, dealing with his kids and other unique observations. Laffey is a former member of Capital City Improv.
Brennan, with her library lady appearance, has been a regular on comedy stages in central Illinois and the St. Louis area with her observations. She is a two-time finalist at Peoria’s Jukebox Comedy Club’s annual amateur contest. Brennan’s comedy appeals to all ages as she presents a positive view on aging in which every challenging situation results in a win.
Nimpson, born and raised in Springfield, has been making a name for himself in the central Illinois comedy scene. He has appeared with Belly Laffs Comedy, a Springfield-based comedy production company, along with Capital City Improv and was runner-up in the Circa 21 Speakeasy Laugh Hard competition.
