Y-Mens Pavilion in Hannibal to be site of Burgers & Brews event Saturday
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Douglass Community Services will be the host of a Burgers & Brews fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Y-Mens Pavilion. Proceeds will go toward a capital campaign to raise money for a new facility for the organization.
Great River Brewing Company will offer craft beers for sale. Blessing Health System Bowling Green will have burgers available for purchase. StoneHill will provide live music from 1 to 4 p.m.
Funds have been secured for the new construction at 711 Grand Avenue, but they will not cover all the building costs, so Douglass Community Services is conducting a $250,000 capital campaign.
In a press release, capital campaign chair Alicia Rollins said, “Douglass Community Services has been positively impacting lives in our community for many years. I am excited to see our community support this campaign which will help us carry out our mission well into the future.”
Chief Operating Officer Stacey Nicholas said donors can give to this project with one-time gifts, multi-month pledges and electronic payments through the Douglass Community Services website and PayPal. Donations of stocks also are accepted.
