MENDON, Ill. — The Adams County Fair will welcome Grammy-nominated singer Sara Evans to this year’s fair on Saturday, July 26.

Evans has five No. 1 country singles — “No Place That Far,” “Suds In The Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place To Start,” “Born to Fly” and “A Little Bit Stronger.” Several of those No. 1s spent two weeks in the top spot and were certified platinum. She’s had 15 songs in the top 20.

Evans plays more than 70 shows each year. Her “stunning, country voice” (as Rolling Stone called it) earned her the Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist accolade in 2006, as well as numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy Awards nominations. The CMA awarded her hit chart-topping single, “Born to Fly,” Video of the Year honors. Evans’ discography also includes the multi-platinum selling studio albums “Real Fine Place” and “Restless” as well as the gold-certified projects “Stronger” and “No Place That Far.” Evans is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

“Sara Evans is truly an unforgettable talent. So many of us grew up listening to her on country radio, and my kids can’t get enough of her music today,” said Melissa Shriver-Hackamack, a director with the Adams County Fair Board.  “This concert is going to be a treat for country music fans of all ages.”

Evans launched her podcast “Diving In Deep” this year and has had distinguished guests such as Crystal Gayle, Bill Anderson and Martina McBride. She also has been honored for her philanthropic work. Evans was presented with the NAB Education Foundation’s Service To America Leadership Award in 2018. A Red Cross ambassador, Evans received the national Crystal Cross award for her work with the disaster-relief organization and has helped raise funds for the CMA Foundation. She’s also a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Entry into grandstand seating for the concert is free with adult admission to the fair that night. To get closer to the stage, track tickets will be sold beginning June 7 at Quincy’s Farm and Home Supply.

The Adams County Fair runs from Wednesday, July 23 to Tuesday, July 29 at the fairgrounds, 15 minutes north of Quincy on Illinois Route 336.
