After motorcyclist runs out of gas, Pike County deputy finds methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia
PIKE COUNTY, Ill. — A Hannibal motorcyclist stopped on Illinois 106 because she ran out of fuel eventually was jailed on two drug offenses.
Ryan Rouse, a deputy with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, was dispatched at 10:33 p.m. Wednesday, July 11 to a traffic hazard on Illinois 106, west of 345th Street.
Upon arrival, Rouse discovered a motorcyclist had run out of fuel. After further investigation, the driver of the motorcycle, Hannah N. Smith, 22, was found to have a revoked driver’s license as well as a Marion County, Mo., felony warrant.
Smith was taken into custody, and methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located. She then was transported to the Pike County Jail and charged with:
- Driving while license revoked,
- Violation of classification,
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine,
- Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
