Augusta woman airlifted to Peoria hospital after single-vehicle rollover crash in northern Adams County

LaPRAIRIE, Ill. — An Augusta woman was hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Monday night.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15. Chenenna Decker, 23, was traveling north on E2903rd Lane, about midway between LaPrairie and Augusta, in her 2008 Kia Sorento when she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the road, struck a ditch and overturned in a small grove of trees.

Decker got out of the vehicle before emergency personnel arrived. She was airlifted to a hospital in Peoria to be treated for injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Adams County Ambulance and fire departments from Golden, Clayton and Camp Point.
