Baked Cheato? QPD arrest man on multiple charges (weapons, resisting arrest, cannabis) during traffic stop

QUINCY — A traffic stop shortly before midnight Monday led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Quincy man for possession of a stolen weapon.
At about 11:30 p.m. Monday, Quincy Police officers pulled over a red Chrysler 200 at 16th and Spring. The driver was Cheato G. Nichols, 20, 933 N. 11th. Officers obtained consent to search the car and found cannabis inside.
While patting down Nichols, they found a gun, a Ruger LC9 handgun, on him. He attempted to flee on foot, but was taken into custody after what police described as a “short scuffle”.
Officers recovered the handgun and confirmed it was stolen.
Cheato Nichols was charged with Aggravated Possession of a Firearm, Felony Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, No FOID card and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. He is lodged in the Adams County Jail.
There was another passenger in the car, Jevin Nichols. He received citations for city ordinance violations.
