Barry man pleads guilty to child pornography, receives six-year sentence in DOC
PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Brandon M. Lord of Barry pled guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 6 in Pike County Circuit Court to the offense of child pornography, a Class X felony, and was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Lord, 29, also received felony probation for the offenses of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and child pornography.
Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood said the investigation began in May when information was received regarding the possession and reproduction of child pornography.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office executed a court-authorized search warrant at 6:30 a.m. July 5 at a residence in Barry. After the execution of the search warrant, Lord was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Jail.
Lord was accused of possessing and disseminating videos, via an electronic device, of children under the age of 13 years old engaged in sexual acts.
Greenwood said his agency is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and is headed by Chief Deputy Zack Orr. The ICAC Task Force helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children. The ICAC Task Force is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces, representing 5,400 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
