Bluhm to retire from United Way of Adams County

Nancy Bluhm

QUINCY — The Board of Directors of the United Way of Adams County has officially accepted the
retirement announcement of Nancy Bluhm, Executive Director, effective December 15.

A news release from the United Way this week said “This planned leadership transition aligns with the Board’s expectations.”

Bluhm was named executive director in January. She had served in the position in an interim role following the departure of Jeremy Wingerter in November 2022. Wingerter had led the organization since February 2020.

Bluhm had previously been the director of the Adams County Health Department, where she worked before 26 years before leaving in 2012. Bluhm has been a member of the United Way Board since 2016 and had served as board president since February 2022 when she stepped down to become the executive director.

“The United Way of Adams County Board extends gratitude to Bluhm for her unwavering
senior leadership, particularly valuable during the organization’s current initiatives to
renew and enhance both its mission and operational frameworks,” the news release concluded.

The United Way board has formed a search committee to find the next executive director.
