Body found at Bob Bangert Park

QUINCY — Quincy Police found the body of a missing 74-year-old man Monday afternoon at Bob Bangert Park on Quincy’s Riverfront.

The man was last seen wading in flood waters at the park Saturday morning around 9:30.

A search was conducted by QPD, Quincy Fire Department and Tri-Township Fire Department, using their boats and drone capability. The body of the man was recovered by the Tri-Township Fire Department Water Response at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The man’s body was turned over to the Adams County Coroner’s Office. Police report he living at the Lampe Hi-Rise, 527 Broadway.

Public Safety officials want to remind the public of dangers of flood waters and citizens should refrain from wading or playing in the river’s flood waters due to the current and under water dangers.
