Burlington, Iowa, man facing burglary charges after arrest in Carthage

CARTHAGE, Ill. — A Burlington, Iowa, man is facing burglary charges after his arrest on Dec. 12.

Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were called to 2171 N. County Road 2550 in Carthage to investigate a burglary report. Deputies investigated and located the suspect, Jon M. Pitts, 36, a short time later. 

Pitts had gone into the residence and stolen several items, which deputies recovered in Pitts’ vehicle. Pitts was arrested and transported to the Hancock County Jail. He was booked, processed and remains held pending a detention hearing.
