Businessman Steve Brink dies at 66
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Steve Brink who operated numerous businesses in Missouri and Illinois, died Friday.
Brink, 66, was pronounced dead at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Brink was born in Hannibal. He established an auto dealership, Steve Brink Motors. He then went into partnership with another car dealer, Dean Poage, to establish Brink and Poage in Quincy that is now known as Gem City Ford.

Brink combined his entrepreneurship with his love of the outdoors when he opened GameMasters in Quincy in 2003, which led to a partnership with Quincy businessman Trevor Beck. A GameMasters Facebook post honored him this week:
“Steve had a love for the outdoors and that is what brought our store to life in 2003. His passion spilled over into this store and has attributed to countless people enjoying the outdoors as he did. His involvement helped provide a hometown sporting goods store with a big town feel. All of us here will cherish his memories and help carry on his love for the outdoors.”
Brink also sponsored numerous hunting and shooting clubs, especially those that involved hunting safety and education.
Brink was involved in multiple businesses at The Lake of Ozarks. Some of Brink’s marina employees posted of his passing on Facebook.
Brink, along with businessman Duane Venvertloh, built the Holiday Inn at 48th and Oak in 2008. Brink sold the hotel earlier this year.
Survivors include his fiancé, Stacie Segebart of Barry, IL; two children, Zac Brink of Quincy, IL and Haley Brown (Cody) of Quincy, IL; one brother, Mike Brink (Marcy) of Hot Springs, AR; one sister, Bettina Brink of Hannibal, MO; and five grandchildren, Layla, Tyson, Baylee, Ryleigh, and Maddie. He is also survived by two nephews, Marshal Brink and Mitch Brink. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services and burial will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
