Camp Point woman jailed, charged with criminal sexual assault

CAMP POINT, Ill. — A Camp Point woman is lodged in the Adams County Jail after being charged with criminal sexual assault.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department received a child abuse hotline report from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services on Monday. An investigation was initiated, and numerous interviews were conducted which ultimately resulted in the arrest of Janelle M. Sparrow, 35. 

Sparrow was arrested on Wednesday at the sheriff’s office. She was lodged without bond. The Adams County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Advocacy Network for Children and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
