Carl Sandburg train only going from Galesburg to Chicago this week; Quincy riders must take bus to and from Galesburg

QUINCY — Trackwork performed by BNSF has forced Amtrak’s Carl Sandburg service to be affected through Friday.

Train 381, which normally operates between Chicago and Quincy, will terminate at Galesburg. Bus 3381 will provide alternate transportation between Galesburg and Quincy.

Train 382, which normally operates between Quincy and Chicago, will originate at Galesburg. Bus 3382 will provide alternate transportation between Quincy and Galesburg, operating 1 hour earlier. The bus will depart Quincy at 4:30 p.m. and Macomb at 5:19 pm

Amtrak.com and the mobile app have been updated to reflect the changes, which started Monday.
