Quincy Citywide Cleanup to be held Sept. 24-26

QUINCY — The City of Quincy will hold its annual Citywide Cleanup Event Tuesday, Sept. 24 through Thursday, Sept. 26. The cleanup will take place on the northeast corner of the vacant lot located at Front and Payson Streets.
The cleanup site will be staffed and open to the public during the following times:
- Tuesday, Sept. 24: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 25: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 26: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is open to City of Quincy residents only, and participants will be required to present a valid driver’s license or photo ID upon entry. Commercial haulers are not permitted.
Residents are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing time, as those not in line by that time will be turned away. Participants are also encouraged to bring assistance if they need help unloading their items, as city staff will not be available for manual unloading.
As in previous years, the following items will not be accepted:
- Yard waste
- Tires
- Electronics
- Household garbage
- Paint, chemicals, and other liquids
- Batteries
- Appliances containing refrigerants (unless refrigerant has been properly removed by a licensed technician and certified with a tag)
