Community Cancer Crush fundraiser for cancer patients set for April 15 at the Ambiance
QUINCY – Tickets are on sale for the Quincy Medical Group Foundation’s Community Cancer Crush event on April 15 at the Ambiance. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins at 6 p.m.
Cancer Crush has raised more than $521,000 since 2014 to help patients with the expenses associated with cancer treatment and other needs such as transportation and housing.
“Cancer Crush brings our community together in support of patients who have or are currently undergoing cancer treatment. We want patients to know they have a community behind them,” said Morgan Parker, director of community relations at QMG. “Cancer Crush provides much needed financial support to patients to help with everyday expenses so they can focus on their health.”
Cancer Crush will again include Buzz Off Cancer, which began in 2018. It invites participants, or “buzzees,” to shave their heads in support of local cancer patients. The common missions of Buzz Off Cancer and Cancer Crush provided an opportunity to bring the two events together. Buzz Off Cancer has raised a total of $72,864 since its inception in 2018.
“This event would not be possible without the community’s support. We are so grateful for the generosity of so many who join us to help our local patients in their battle against cancer,” Parker said.
This year’s event includes a silent auction, games, food trucks and live music.
