Coroner identifies man found Monday in Bob Bangert Park; cause of death ruled as accidental drowning

QUINCY — Adams County Coroner Scott Graham announced in a press release on Thursday that the person who was found Monday afternoon at Bob Bangert Park on Quincy’s riverfront has been identified as Terrance R. Mosier, 69, of Quincy.

Graham said the cause of death appears to be accidental drowning. The case remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Quincy Police Department.

A report on Monday said the man was last seen wading in flood waters at the park Saturday around 9:30 a.m.

A search was conducted by the Quincy Police Department, Quincy Fire Department and Tri-Township Fire Department, using boats and drone capability. The body was recovered by the Tri-Township Fire Department Water Response at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The man’s body was turned over to the Adams County Coroner’s Office. The police department reported he lived at the Lampe Hi-Rise, 527 Broadway.
