QUINCY — Anthony “Tony” Crane and the late Carl G. Schmiedeskamp are the two newest inductees into the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame

These men will be honored at the Business Hall of Fame Ceremony during the organization’s Annual Meeting on Jan. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oakley-Lindsay Center.

Established in 2006, the Business Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and organizations for their impactful contributions to the Quincy area business community.

Crane was a founding partner of Architechnics, Inc., and Schmiedeskamp was the head of the law firm Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu Mitchell LLP.

“This year’s honorees exemplify excellence and have made remarkable contributions to our community on so many levels,” Bruce Guthrie, President/CEO of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce said. “The Business Hall of Fame allows us to celebrate the substantial investments of innovators, leaders, and business owners whose efforts have made Quincy a better place.”

Tony Crane

As a founding partner of Architechnics, Inc., Tony Crane has shaped Quincy’s building environment with hallmark projects, including the Oakley-Lindsay Center. His 1976 thesis project at the University of Illinois laid the groundwork for a Quincy performing arts and convention center, addressing a long-standing community need.

Beyond his professional achievements, Crane has been an active community volunteer, serving numerous civic organizations. His accolades include the Distinguished Service Award from the Quincy Jaycees, the Rotary Foundation District 6460 Service Award, and the Presidential Citation for Integrity on behalf of the Rotary Club of Quincy. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International Foundation.

Carl G. Schmiedeskamp

The late Carl G. Schmiedeskamp was a distinguished trial lawyer and corporate attorney who left an indelible mark on Quincy’s business and civic landscape. As the leader of the Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu Mitchell LLP firm, he represented many Hall of Fame inductees and key business leaders.

Schmiedeskamp’s leadership extended beyond the courtroom. He was a founding member of the Moorman Foundation (now the CFM Foundation), long-time chairman of the Quincy Area Project, and a board member for organizations such as Mercantile Trust & Savings Bank and the Family Service Agency of Adams County.

The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Business Hall of Fame Ceremony is open to the public. Admission is $55 per person, which includes lunch. Reserve your spot by Friday, January 10, 2025, at www.quincychamber.org.
