CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College will hold the Class of 2022 commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14 in the Charles Field House. John Wood Community College president Michael Elbe will deliver the commencement address.

“We are thrilled to welcome President Elbe to “the Hill” to encourage our students,” C-SC President Douglas B. Palmer said in a press release. “We are honored that a retiring president and local partner in education has accepted our invitation to impart wisdom with our graduates.”

Elbe has served JWCC in a number of capacities since 1990. He recently announced plans to retire in December.

Elbe will address nearly 200 graduating Culver-Stockton College students who are receiving either undergraduate or graduate degrees. His speech, titled “Achieving your Dreams,” will reflect on Elbe’s educational journey, leadership path and lessons learned. As a long-time basketball coach, Elbe hopes to inspire the audience with personal lessons and offer a challenge to achieve one’s dreams best.

C-SC will award Elbe an honorary doctor of education (honoris causa) during the ceremony to recognized his years of service to the educational community.
