‘Empty the Shelters’ event offers reduced adoption fees for cats, dogs
QUINCY — Bissell Pet Foundation is bringing hope to shelter pets across the country this holiday season with its “Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope” adoption event through Dec. 20. During each nationwide event, Bissell Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees per cat, dog, puppy and kitten.
This event will be held in more than 200 shelters in 40 states, including Quincy Humane Society, 1701 N. 36th, which is offering $15 adoption fees for adult cats and $25 for adult dogs, kittens and puppies. All interested community members must submit an application and be approved before adopting any animal.
The “Empty the Shelters” event began in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet into their home. Nearly 68,000 pets have found adoptive homes through this reduced-fee adoption event.
Quincy Humane Society has participated in the Empty the Shelters event numerous times over the last several years.
“Quincy Humane Society has a full shelter of wonderful pets who would be a great addition to any family who is willing to make the lifelong commitment to love them, care for them and give them the best life possible. We would love nothing more than to see our animals go home for the holidays,” Executive Director Pilar Brumbaugh said.
