Families participating in Gene Grawe Fund to earn average of $723 for Catholic school tuition
QUINCY — Thanks to support from purchases by family and friends through the Gene Grawe Fund, 484 Quincy-area families will be receiving a total of $350,099.16 for Catholic school tuition to be used during the 2024-25 school year.
Money earned through the fund since 2005 now totals $3,665,249.36.
This year, 121 families earned at least $1,000, while 21 earned $2,000, 6 earned $3,000, 2 earned $4,000, and the top family purchased gift cards to help them raise $8,375,69. The average family earned $723.35.
The number of participating families increased 10.7 percent (from 437 in 2023).
“Families can use the fund to cover nearly all their spending, and many involve friends and family to increase their totals,” JoAnn Witte, president of the Gene Grawe Fund, said in a press release.
Purchases can be made at the fund office in the lobby of St. Peter Church, 2600 Maine. Local merchants partner with the fund to provide the biggest rate of income. Others use the fund by going on the RaiseRight mobile app, online at www.RaiseRight.com, or buying pre-paid Visa cards.
