QUINCY — The Quincy Farmers’ Market, presented by Quincy Medical Group, will return to Washington Park for another season. The first market will take place Saturday, May 7, and will continue every Saturday through October 29. The market hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each date.

The market strives to support local farmers and businesses, enrich the community by making fresh produce available to customers, inform customers about healthy and sustainable food choices and provide a community gathering spot to create a festive environment and community destination.

The Quincy Farmers’ Market will have a wide variety of items for sale from numerous vendors. Farm fresh, in-season produce and locally, hand-crafted items will be available for purchase. Some approved vendors can accept EBT (SNAP) and WIC vouchers for customers utilizing those payment methods.

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor should review the requirements listed on The District’s website at https://www.thedistrictquincy.com/farmers-market/. Vendors also can sign up at The District’s office at 128 N. Fifth or on site the day of the market. The cost to be a vendor is $9. Additional licensing through the City of Quincy and Adams County Health Department may be required, depending on items being sold and payment methods a vendor would like to accept. Vendors should contact these entities with questions regarding licensing.

The District also hires employees to manage the market. Temporary positions may be available from time to time throughout the season. For more information, call The District at 217-228-8696.
