GD Energy Products announces closure of Quincy facility, impacting 61 employees
HOUSTON, Texas — GD Energy Products (GDEP), 1800 Gardner Expressway, which specializes in designing and manufacturing high-pressure pumps, parts and service for the oil and gas industry, announced Tuesday the closure of its Quincy facility, citing challenging market and economic conditions as the primary factor behind this decision to consolidate operations.
The closure, which will take place during the fourth quarter of 2024, will impact approximately 61 employees across various departments.
GDEP said in a press release it is committed to supporting affected employees during this transition, offering severance packages and resources to assist employees in finding new opportunities. Officials said the decision to close the Quincy facility was “not made lightly.”
This closure does not affect the main Gardner Denver plant, which merged with Ingersoll Rand in 2020. GDEP has been renting space in Quincy from Ingersoll Rand/Gardner Denver since 2021.
