GREDF releases housing surveys, seeks public input
QUINCY — The Great River Economic Development Foundation, in partnership with Adams County, the City of Quincy and the Housing and Community Advisors, is looking for public participation to assess the housing and rental market in Adams County.
GREDF received the Research in Illinois to Spur Economic Recovery grant in September 2022 from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to complete a housing study in Adams County.
Many community members are struggling to find available places to rent or purchase, and area homebuilders are battling the rise in the cost to build new homes.
The three housing surveys are designed to assist in examining the local housing and rental market:
- The first survey is designed for Adams County community members to help identify the housing needs.
- The second survey is targeted for employers with employees who live in Adams County, their feedback will help forecast employers’ housing needs in the future.
- The third survey is for community stakeholders, which includes home builders, mortgage officers, developers, real estate agents, government officials, and not-for-profits.
From the data collected, GREDF will examine current market conditions, identify barriers to success, and offer measurable solutions which will be included in the plan and my also be eligible for future grant opportunities.
