Hannibal man dies in Friday morning traffic crash on Route MM

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man has died as the result of injuries suffered in a Friday morning traffic crash on Route MM.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2022 Winnebago driven by Mathew S. Sims, 31, was westbound on Route MM as it attempted to pass another vehicle. Instead, Sims’ vehicle struck a 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Tyler J. White, 32, of Hannibal. Sims was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital and was pronounced dead at the scene.

White was transported with moderate injuries by Survival Flight to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Providing assistance on the scene were the Hannibal Police Department and the Hannibal Fire Department.
